See... I like those eBay ones... but the price... yeesh. I'm looking into a way of doing a 68 Shelby tribute type deal on my car, but since it isn't a Shelby, I want to stay away from the Cobra logos, and the like. But, I'd like to have the Shelby style rocker stripes, but all I'd be able to put in them (in good conscience) is "GT". And that would look silly sitting directly under a chrome GT badge. So, the Powered By Ford logo would fit perfectly with the theme, I think, being that Shelby used those style badges but it isn't strictly associated with his cars.

But, as was asked, would they cover the holes left by removing the GT emblems?

And, while a bit tricksy and at least moderately dishonest, the guy above me has a good plan. If only one can find a genuine Shelby to knick the VIN from.

I'm pretty sure they'll cover up any holes. The GT logo and this logo are about the same height (1.5").

2005 white s197

Go to any Ford Dealership and "cop" a Shelby VIN. Take that nuber to the parts dept. and tell them you need another set to replace your stolen ones. They will order from Shelby after they check out he VIN. I did this and sold them on Ebay for 275.00, they cost me 46.75 plus shipping I then purchased another set and placed on my GT.

Already tried that with a local Ford dealer,Sheblyhas already caught onto that idea. Now they want if stolen orif the fender is damagedin an accident, a copyof the police report .Shelby is not going to cut loose of these emblems with outproof.
I was thinking of replacing the GT emblems, actually bought two of the Scott Drake emblems not bad but when you see the the Shelby emblems on a Shelby GT at the Ford store I think maybe not so good of an idea. May just leave along and eat the $50 bucks it cost me for the Scott Drake clone emblem.

Does anyone know, how far apart are the alignment holes under the stock GT badge? Basically, if
I were to spring for those nice looking Ebay badges ( I know, I'd have to be insane ), would they
(at 1.5" tall) be enough to cover the existing holes in the fender well?

Thx,
Yes, they'll cover the holes. The Hertz Shelbys were GTs before they got Shelbyized, so they have the alignment holes hiding under the logo.
