GTs are a model that are always made every year I think... Cobra..Mach 1 etc are all special editions... only available inspecific years. They will hold more value then a basic GT that you can get any year.

With that being said the differences between the years can be easily found by getting a brochur from your dealer, it"s contained on the last few pages. The mach 1 mustang is no longer made actually so cross that off the list.
However there are new ones that ARE made for this year:
Mustang
Mustang GT
Mustang Pony Package
Mustang Shelby
Mustang Saleen 281
Roush Mustang Stage 1
Mustang Saleen H281
Mustang Bullitt
Shelby CS6
Any ones besides this list are not affordable for the normal person and cost at least 45k new or used:
Shelby GT500
Saleen PJ
Roush Stage 3
Saleen Extreme 302
Shelby Super Snake/KR
Steeda QS8
Below I"ll explain the ones that are both affordable and not covered in dealer brochures ALL are availeble as a coupe or convertible, with the convertible option costing 5k more, also there is a 3.5k discount this month for 2007 models in addition to the prices I list and 2k for 08:
If I don"t post a pic of the interior it means it has a stock one by the way.
Mustang Shelby, 35k new | Excelent Handeling 10% better than stock, 12% more HP than stock, significantly better resale value, easy to drive according to car and driver:
Mustang Saleen 281 3v 30k used | 15% more HP than stock (GT), best production car handeling on earth according to motortrend, difficult to drive, unique Xenon high powered blueish headlamps that are only availble on this car, difficult to find a 3v version most of them have the more powerful engine and are much faster and as such much more expensive, central exhaust is a plus, has valve in exhaust so it's quiet in the city and loud at speed.
Roush Mustang Stage 1 38k new 28k used | bad resale value but better than some other cars, 17% more hp than stock, more hp than saleen in same class (naturally aspirated), less road holding power than saleen, comfortable, squareish exhaust tips are a plus ( http://www.allfordmustangs.com/articles/uploads/roush_stage3_mustang_3_550x291.jpg ).
Mustang Saleen H281 32k new | competitor to Roush Stage 1 (designed to slot under it, where as the Saleen 3v slots above the Roush stage 1), didn"t really work out beacause it"s slow, the interior is cheep etc. 8% more HP than stock, no handeling upgrades which crosses it off most people"s lists just straight up. The saving graces are that the new shifting system feels nice (also found on the Saleen 3v) and the exhaust sounds good. lol
Shelby CS6 25k used 35k new | 26% more HP than a GT, upgraded brakes (only one of the affordable mustangs that has this), real Shelby, no handling upgrades, inexpensive. 2nd worst handling, fastest, best braking, best 0-60, but handles better than a "mustang" or a "mustang gt".
