My Whipple
Well it took years to get it, but now its installed. Wow this thing is amazing!!! Nothing new here just like several before me said, itsa totally different car. I also had my gauges installed and I noticed under WOTthe air fuel isat a 11.5-12. At idle its at 14.7-15.....Is this normal for idle???? Also my boost gauge sits at about 20 Vac and when I get on it it goes to about 10 boost. I thought for some reason it would idle at 0. Can someone explain how the boost works? Does it stay under vac pressure until you get on it? Just want to make sure all my gauges are calibrated and functioning properly.
Ill post pics up tomorrow

RE: My Whipple
20" Hg (Vacuum) is right where it should be at idle. The engine will be under vacuum at low loads and boost under high loads. At idle, or when the butterfly in the throttle body closes, there's not enough air for the downward moving pistons to pull in, so it creates a vacuum. While cruising, you're at a low throttle position, so you will still have vacuum, but not as much as idle. Should be around 12-16" Hg (vacuum) while cruising, depending on your RPM's and whether you're going up or downhill slightly. Hope this helps, sounds like your install is working right though.
