Default Did Something Funny

I removed the rear-view mirror from the windshield. I figure the mirror blocks half thewindshield, and if you want to see something on the right side of the road you either need to lean way forward and put your nose on the glass or bend over and look under the mirror. The factory mirror is way too big. I no longer feel like I have tunnel vision. Seems a lot safer to me too, I have so much more "forward" visibility...

Legality will depend on your state. In Texas, when I last checked, was that you had to have two rear facing mirrors. It did not specify where these two mirrors had to be.

My 62 bonneville had one mirror on the driver side front fender and the interior rearview, no passenger side. My 67 camaro had driver and passenger side view mirrors, none inside.

Both were legal. Just check your local laws.

Yeah, I'd suspect that it's illegal in some places and required for most, if not all, state inspections. But I hear you about the darned thing being a nuisance sometimes. At least the windshield-to-mirror stalk is convenient for hanging my RD cable, pending my hard-wire install... [8D]

I kindoff agree... I notice this, speciallyif your over 6 feet tall and makinglong right hand turns, even with the seat all the way down. But the advantages of keeping it outweight the disadvantages.

Replace your head unit with one that has a rear facing camera.

I have a feeling this is another troll posting fake threads!

But I have noticed that at am intersection it can block cars on my right that pull up to the same 4-way stops. I have to watch out on a certain corner near where I live. The mirror and that thick A-pillar really block the view but there's no way I'd ever remove the mirror.
Some people just are begging to get pulled over!
But like I said, smells like a fake post![:-]
