Default Where is the fuel filter?

I thought I saw something posted on this once before but a search doesn't turn up anything. If I remember right it's near the gas tank itself correct? A quick visual from my hands and knees and I didn't see it.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Under a plastic cover huh? Sneaky. That explains why I didn't see it right away. Still towards the rear by the tank then? I ask because on my truck it was on the frame rail just about under the drivers door.

Thanks Tracedaddy; I wanted to know where it was too. Is the factory filter the best one to use or is there a better one out there?

Can't say I researched it too much. Just made a trip to Autozone. I was about 10K overdue. Thanks for info guys. Job is done.
