Keyed =[
So a couple months back I was rear ended and had to replace my bumper. I decided to get a GT rear as well as take the chance to convert to duals. I just got my bumper last week and put it on.
Guess what? It got keyed two days after I had put it on. How cool is that right? My dogs are pretty much alarms. I'm still up at about midnight and I hear them barking up a storm. I go outside to make sure everything is ok and move my Mustang from the bottom of my driveway up a little bit further just to make sure nothing would happen to it. As I get into my car, I see a familiar truck on leave from the intersection right only one house down, the truck of a kid who doesn't like me for whatever reason. I didn't think much of it until I was woken up by my mom asking about a scratch on my new bumper.
I didn't know what she was talking about so I immediately threw on some clothes and went outside. What I see is a pretty deep, 18 inch pinstripe courtesy of a key along the top. I was livid. This was a brand new bumper that I had just put on and it had been vandalized. I then thought of my dogs, it being around midnight, and the truck and the pieces of the puzzle all fell together. I know cops, quite a few, and they told me what was best to do and I was going to soon do it. I kid you not, TWOnights later, it is keyed again. The same spot, but now along the length of my bumper as well as some sort of zig zag along the bottom. It gets better from here hehe.
I immediately contacted the police and I am very lucky I got an officer that actually cares about stuff like this. He was very cool and understanding about what happened and really wanted to take care of somebody who would stoop this low and do this to a vehicle. I gave the rundown and was told that he would personally go and visit this kid and make sure this was taken care of. The very next day I get a phone call from the kid's mom with her dearest apologies and concern for getting this fixed. It looks like the kid pooped his pants once the cop showed up. I really appreciate the caring from both the officer and parent in this situation.
So now I have to get yet another rear bumper since it's just cheaper that way. I could go ahead and get a GT front with grilles as well for pretty much nothing since I'm payed for the damages. I kinda like keeping the V6 front though, just to distinguish myself...and some new side skirts are on my mind. Which do you think I should go for?

...in fact, kick him in the nuts repeatedly until he cries like a little girl!
I'm very happy that you got some retribution, because normally we don't - one of the down sides to owning a car that other people envy!

I think the best way would be to hold his head under water for a short time to scare the HXll out of him to make sure he knows you mean business! Maybe not that might get you thrown in jail! Your method of using the cops is much better!
I honestly had thought of getting some payback on one form or another, but I knew that wouldn't help anything. I'm glad I kept my cool and did what was needed.
Bryan, they said that a good idea is to just SAY that you have called the cops and started an investigation, give a bunch of details, and all that jazz. You don't tell who you know did it, but some other person that you know will pass along the word. It tends to get kids really cautious and gives them some anxiety, usually resulting in them admitting. I'm satisfied with the way this turned out though.
I got an estimate from the dealer of course, and it came out to be about $800. It kind of works out for me though, I just bought a GT rear and front with grilles for under $600. I think I made out pretty well. Here's some pictures of the damage.
Not for the faint of heart
