Shaker 500 AUX Question
Ive got a 2005 Mustang with the Shaker 500 cd system. What i cant figure out is the Auxiliary button. Is it just a standard headphone cord that plugs into the back of the system or what? How do i plug my ipod into the stereo? I mean unless im misunderstanding is that what i can do?

RE: Shaker 500 AUX Question
05 has one in the back of the head unit, 07 they started putting them in the console...you just need to get the unit out and run a cord to a somewhere you like and leave it there

RE: Shaker 500 AUX Question
Does this mean that I can hard wire my Sirius radio into the back of an '05 Shaker 500??
I remember threads on this topic a year or so ago, and there was talk of all kinds of electronic adapters and whatnot, most of which were either a rip-off or not too effective.

RE: Shaker 500 AUX Question
You need the Aux adapter (PIE FRD04-AUX)to run an external MP3 playerto your AUX port. They may also have released an Ipod specific adapter since I bought mine, try a search on www.pie.net. On the 05-06 the AUX was actually designed for the rear radio/DVD controls, which of course they did not use. If you get the adapter, you are basically fooling the Shaker into believing your Ipod or Mp3 player is actually a DVD player.

RE: Shaker 500 AUX Question
Underbird10 is correct. I have two other 2006 Fords with the AUX button and no plug. You got to buy that part from Ford. And if you buy it from someone other then Ford and have any electronic issue, Ford WILL NOT cover under warrenty. They will say your non-Ford Electronic part casue it. You will HAVE to prove it did not. Just FYI.
