Your first problem is you were running significantly more rake than stock, this makes the car extremely unstable and likley to oversteer, this is a fact.

Your second problem is you were running a staggered setup, this makes the car very unstable in the rain, beyond anything else because the car will not hydroplane evenly but instead tend to have issues. In fact you had one of the largest discrepancies between your front and rear tires that i've ever heard of. Most auto manufacturers won't even allow a 30mm difference, but you were running 50mm!

255/35/20 Toyo Proxy 4s (front)
305/35/20 Nitto NT555R Drag Radials (back)

Your third problem was your tire choice, besides clearly choosing an unstable setup as both the front and the rear would have been better with nitos all round, you chose drag radials on a daily driver.

Everything you did was DESIGNED to crash this car in the rain and yet you're surprised that happened?

Being totaled by the insurance company is only a good thing if the value will cover the remainder of your loan ... or if you have Gap insurance. Otherwise getting you car totaled sucks ...
