New car or engine swap?

New car or engine swap?
I graduate from engineering school next May and want to start planning a big move car wise. Right now I have a 2005 4.0L convertible (yes I have GT trim) and want to step up with the big boys to a V8. Here are some options I am mulling over:
1) Large displacement crate motor
2) Drop in a S197 4.6L
3) Drop in a GT500 5.4L
4) Sell the 4.0L and buy a 4.6L w/ supercharger
5) Turbo setup the 4.0L (least favorite option)
What do you think would be the most cost effective option. I am also taking the insurance into consideration which is why I want to do a motor swap.

RE: New car or engine swap?
How much would a used GT vert or used GT500 coupe/vert go for nowadays?
According to KBB, my car resale value is about 20,000. I think I could get more because of the mods installed, but not really that much more.

mods wont drive your price up unless you find buyer who wants them . I would just wait for the 2010 mustang honestly , the release of another gen mustang would lower these gen ones even more.

If you can properlydo an engine swap yourself, do a swap. If it's going to be a daily driver still, I wouldn't go with a big crate engine. I'd say find a 4.6. Otherwise, if you really want a GT, go get one. It'll save you time. Waiting for the 2010 would be cool too, but keep in mind your car's resale value will drop quite a bit by then.
