So which type of oil should we be using with the 281?

Amsoil's webpage that shows what they recommend for your specific year/make/model recommends the ASM. That's what I've been using (0W20) with their filter. But I go 10,000 miles between oil/filter changes despite Amsoil rating the oil 25,000 miles normal service, 15,000 miles severe seervice.
If you fully intend to change your oil at or before 7,500 miles then the Extended Life will be fine.

Yeah I noticed this here:
Ford recommends 5W-20 though so I'm not sure I want to use that stuff. I know it probably won't hurt anything but I'm still a little uneasy about it.
AMSOIL ASM replaces SAE 5W-20 and is recommended for extended drain intervals according to AMSOIL service interval guidelines. It delivers long-lasting performance and protection.
