Default Son of a....

Monday morning I walk out to the car to go to an appointment. As I approache the car, I notice something doesn't look *right*. Sure enough, some asshat decided that they needed to run into my car! [:@] And to add insult to injury, they weren't even nice enough to leave a note. I have a suspicion that it was one of my neighbors, but they won't admit to anything.

The front bumper cover at the drivers side headlight is wrecked. Paint obviously missing, the bumper cover is clearly creased and the edge of the fender is bent in and chipped. Fortunately, the headlight itself isn't damaged.

It's at the dealer now getting the airbag recall done and a plethora of other "short comings" that have been annoying the hell outta me that they need to fix. (read - NOT happy with this car at all!)

Anyway, I got to thinking about my options for the bumper...

My question is will a GT takeoff bumper fit my NON-GT Mustang without modification?

Any other suggestions?

Possible upgrades without modification?

I would like to add foglights (i.e. GT500 - but I imagine that lots of time and money to modify one of those to fit.).

A GT takeoff grill+bumper will fit your v6 no problem, and is a much much cheaper alternative than a gt500 bumper (easily 1000 dollars cheaper)

Is there any paint transfer?

Look at your neighbors' cars? They will have damage, too...

I did a V6 to GT front last week. Went perfectly.

Thanks for the replies guys. So the GT bumper is a direct fit/identical part, right? If anything, I'd like to do the GT bumper with the pony package grill and fogs. I may be in the minority, but the huge fogs just don't do it for me.

Someone has/had some white paint on their car, that's for sure considering how much I'm missing! I've tried to look closely at the neighbors cars but one is in the garage all the time (RARELY comes out - she's about 90 and has a tough time with her Toyota Echo!) and the other, I saw tonight. It's a silver Honda Civic and the plastic portion of her bumper doesn't match the rest of the car...almost as if it's been repainted. I'm going to get the estimate from Ford and confront both of them about it. I'm sure nothing will become of it though.

The Pony package grille is a V6 grille, and won't fit properly on a GT bumper.

a GT take-off bumper fits a lot better with a V8 under the hood
