Default thread size on stock shift ****

So...

I just got my "economic stimulus" check from the gov't, and was thinking about buying an MGW short shifter.

I'd like to use the stock shift **** (I want to keep it looking stock when people look at it, plus I can't really justify spending extra $$$ for a ball style **** that doesn't feel right to me), but I haven't a clue what the ****'s thread size is. And, has anyone PUT the stock **** on the MGW, and had it look stock, or does the boot sit lower and expose the metal of the arm (i.e. Hurst shifter in the Roush)?

The following is directly from the mgw website http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang2005_shifter.shtml

Shifter is available with your choice of shift **** shaft, one with the OEM 12 MM threads and one with 3/8-16 standard threads for most retro aftermarket plastic shift *****.
