H or X pipe with shorties
For some reason the search is not working, so i thought i post a thread. Im planning on getting BBK tuned headers and was wondering if i should go with a H or X pipe for them. I have SLP loudmouths now if that makes a difference. If one increases more power thats a plus, but sound is also a big thing for me.
thanks!
thanks!

Depends on the sound you want.
I've got an or/x with shorties and Stingers. Sounds great to me. Everyone I know says it sounds great too.
Most people here seem to prefer the h-pipe sound.
Try and find someone close by to you to hear what they sound like in person and then make the decision. Video and sound clips don't come close to the actual sound.

Id just leave the stock H-pipe or get a frpp Xpipe. shortys will no doubt make it a bit louder but still sound ok. An O/R orhi-flow cattedpipe will be very very loud and raspy (not in a good way)

True on the loud part, not totally true on the raspy part, at least not with bullet mufflers. Chambered mufflers sound worse than a Honda.

is the factory h pipe and JBAs hpipe any different? im thinking of going with a full blown JBA setup but cant seem to find their H pipe, plus with their sound clips i cant tell which one is which. and if the factory one is ok then would a JBA shorty and Axle back be ok?

RE: H or X pipe with shorties
I'm running the factory H pipe with JBA Shortys, into Flowmasters. I like the sound. I was considering the FRPP X Pipe, but I am afraid it might get too raspy, so I am staying with this for now.....
