Default Weight Savings?

anybody have any terribly creative ideas on weight savings for an s197?
i'm looking for things that dont cost anything, but i'll take replacement parts too.

i think most of us have heard about cleaning out the trunk, spare tire, tire jack, ect., taking out the trunk floor, maybe some plastic panels back in the trunk, cleaning out the glove box.. i took out the center console/middle armrest hatch and hinge..

for those of you who dont know, the rear seat SEAT (where your butt goes, not your back) has two tabs up under the cushion where the back of your knees would be, one between each passengers legs, that lets you snap the seat out.

not sure if i left anything out.

any suggestions for lightening up the front of the car? something in the engine bay?
anyone know of any great reason to keep that under-hood insulation there?
think taking the plastic radiator cover off is dangerous?

thanks for you comments(:

No offense but why are you trying to lighten up your car? The battery is pretty damn heavy. They have smaller ones you can buy or move it to the trunk.

no offense taken.
this is my first 'real' car, and i'm just havin fun with it! i dont have too much money to spare right now, so until i do, i'm doin what i can for performance.....and fuel economy..
i know that a 1.3lb console hatch wont save me more than a penny at the pump, and i'll never notice any better handling, but if porsche engineers will replace a hood badge with a decal, i might as well lose a little plastic here and there too!

Remove the a-pillar covers, radio, windshield washer resivour/pump and squirters, speakers, rear seat and belts, all the sound dampning material under the carpet, spoiler delete, lower grill delete, fog light delete, get lighter battery and put in trunk, take off all useless trim in the engine bay, replace stock seats with lighter ones, buy lighter wheels, one piece drive shaft, replace stock exhaust, windshield wipers, and a whole lot more..... Just use you imagination. Any thing you dont think you need or want you can pull off. But how far are you willing to strip? Glass and door panels?

buster: gettin married in a year and saving for the wedding et al now(:
Z06 Killer: -windshield washer pump is good, havent thought about that in a while. -got the seat, belts are coming out this evening. -sound dampening under carpet will come out if/when the seats get replaced. -battery relocate will be sometime soon, if i dont procrastinate -replacing seats, wheels, and ds will come when i get a little money to spare
i dont mind chuckin the door panels, and the speakers will probably come out then. any tips on what to be careful about once its all exposed?
thinking about taking the center plastic ***.y out (cupholders, shifter housing, ect.).
i've thought about replacing the quarter glass with some louvers, but not sure what the weight differance would be compared to the cost. i dont think they look good enough to warrant it.

what about the insulation under the hood?
and any specifics on what is truly unneeded in the engine bay?

thanks(:

They did that todecrease the wind co efficient drag at 150+ mph
You can also do what NASCAR does and repaint with lighter paint by using less paint or sanding off the existing paint entirely. An old school trick is to drill holes in all the unseen metal areas.
