I was out running around town today and my check engine light came on. I was able to read and clear the code with my scan gauge in the car (love this gauge!). Anyway, I got code P0456.

I understand P0456 is related to a loose gas cap or small leak in the otherwise seal fuel system. I checked the gas cap and it was on tight. (I think I tend to tighten it down a little too hard.)

After I cleared the code, I did some highway and town driving about 15 miles worth, maybe a half an hour or so. I parked and turned the car on and off once. Came home and turned it on and off again. No problems.

It doesn't seem serious to me. Does this warrant a trip to the stealership? Is it possible that there is nothing really wrong with the system?
