Default Tranny Swap

Approximately how much would it cost (parts + installation) for a swap from an automatic to a 5-speed?
Has anyone ever done this?

thanks in advance!

You could do it by yourself and a friend for 3.5-4.5k and headache is a good word choice. I have dont two tranny swaps in the past big headache honestly to me no worth it. Just drive your current car perhaps get a shift kit or just buy a manual it will save you in the long run.

haha, i know headache comes free. thats why i asked for the price including the installation.. so i can leave the headache to the mechanic

and 6k just doesnt seem worth it at all. that can be used to pay the difference in a trade-in for a manual V8 [>:]

Well you asked for parts and instalation so it would cost 6.5k. also you could easily swap the GT500's 6 speed for the same price so there is no reason to go with a 5 speed.

Maybe if you had bought the manual in the first place you would have that 6k for an SC. Why do you want to switch it out? You can have the auto's tuned to act a lot like manual's now a days althoug it wont bemanual it can be made to behave like one.
