Default Leather Interior Problem. Need help!

I have red leather seats in my 06GT.

Well the other day I was cleaning/conditioning them and used Lexol at first. I used the cleaner and condioner.
I lifted up my cloth to find RED on the cloth!
I could not see on the seats where anything was taken off but obviously
some was.
I tried Mguires after that to see if it was the product and had the same results.

I talked to my uncle about it who is the co-owner at the dealership where the car was purchased. He said that any brand can take it off if you do not rub LIGHTLY.
He said it was not the leather's fault.

I don't know what to believe about this and I don't know what do do.
I cannot see where it took it off but the fact is that my seats do need
conditioning and cleaning, and red was on the white cloth I used.
How can I clean the leather good if I do not apply pressure? It's not like I pressed down with tremendous force.
I don't get this. What should I do?
Is it in fact the fault of the leather or my technique?
Should I take it to another dealership and see what they say?

I really need some help!
Thanks.[/align]

Experiment with a few different products. I think they all say as a disclaimer to test for colorfastness in a hidden place first. Don't rub the crap out of it. It's not that dirty.

That's the thing. I am not rubbing the crap out of them.
If I did it lighter I would barely be doing it at all, and I know they would not get clean.
I was rubbing with a slight amount of pressure, and I mean slight.

Can you tell any fading in spots or does it all still look uniform? Try rubbing it with a slightlydamp cloth using only water and see if it does the same thing. If it doesn't then try using a different product, maybe you can find a cleaner thats a little milder.

Are you using saturated wipes or a spray on cleaner/conditioner? If youre using wipes then buy a spray on cleaner and spray a light amount on a clean cloth. That way you can add as little or as much as you like.

Hope this helps.

Died leather will always run when wet.

I had a red motorcycle jacket and got caught out in the rain with it. The red ran on my shirt and jeans and never came out, had to through them away.

Just keep conditioning them and be gentle, its the best you can do.

I used Lexol, Mcquires, Mothers and even the ford brand.

The back seats do not do this only the front. It makes no sense that only the front ones would do this.
The dye should have been set in the leather before being made into seats.
Yes I can see some fading on where it happened. Not a HUGE amount but noticable.
Problem is with time it will get worse. I have only had the car 2 years. I can imagine what they might look like
in two more with this happening.

I read on BlackMustangClub.com that some S197's were having problems with this, and other people with previous models
were not having the problem, even after years. I can't condition my leather because like I said I am not using alot of pressure.
Having the choice of my leather cracking or the color coming off is not right.
There were some people with S197's that were having their seats replaced by the dealer.

I took mine in about an hour ago. A few guys looked at it then the manager. He said he was gonna call Ford and see if they have heard any problems and see what he could do, no promises made. The warranty should cover this by all means. If they refuse it I will defenatly be fighting.

You have had your car 2 years... is this the first time your cleaning the leather? Did you have this problem in the past when you cleaned the seats? Are you using the same product you used before?

I have cleaned the leather once or twice before and used Meguires. It did not take any off then that I remember.
(may have been because I did not use a white towel, can't be sure.)
But now Meguires, lexol, and mothers are all doing it.... and again ONLY on the front seats is it doing this.
