i head somewhere that people were having trouble keep good paint on the steeda hoods because of them not having a liner underneath, don't remember which site i saw that on. i've been wanting a 2" cowl hood for a long time, been spending money mostly on performance mods right now.
My hood has no problem without a liner. Been on for over a year. Could be the way the hood was prepped and painted but Pascal will know more about that.

No problems on my steeda cowl, its been on 2 different cars and nearly 3 years. Many road course days included. Also with engine temps climbing above the middle mark.

Because generally they have a huge **** fan blowing in front of the car keeping outside air flowing right over the engine and intake. Therefore no hot air being sucked into the intake.
Trust be, the situation would be alot worse with 3 dyno pulls with the hood down and the car not moving.
