Ugly hood scoop
I'd love a Shaker setup for my car but due to the big lump of Whipple sitting atop the heads, I'm unable to have one
Seems that a lot of guys with the factory faux scoop hate them. As weird as it sounds, I think I'd like one.
If anyone has a Satin Silver one kicking about which they've removed and which they'd be prepared to separate from the hood (maybe an accident damaged hood?) I'd like a chance at buying it......
Either that, or anybody point me to a seller which sells them painted (and doesn't want the college fund for one) ?

RE: Ugly hood scoop
When I picked up my (non-hood-scoop) 08 a few weeks ago, to my surprise a Roush hood scoop was on there. I freaked at first, and threatened to have them swap the hood out. Two weeks later, it's kinda grown on me. Fake or not, I'm starting to like it. It breaks up the rather large, flat hood we have.
I'm with you - if you find something you like, go for it. You're the one who has to drive it every day!

^That's not the factory scoop.
Anyhow, it's not that hard to remove from the hood. I had to remove mine to do my stripes... it's basically bolted on with four screws and then six or so clips. So I'm not sure anyone would remove it without having something to replace the spot it occupied. I got mine from the parts department at the local dealership. I believe it was about $220 unpainted. Then they painted and installed in for another $220 or so.

I personally really like mine... even though its fake... how much HP are you gaining anyways from a shaker hood.... umm nothing really... I can find other things to spend 800 bucks on... imo

I love mine! I'm sure you will be able to find one. Check the local salvage yards, S197 GT's are abundant in salvage yards around here. If I get a chance I get out and try to find one for you.
