Some of you may remember the post concerning the ability of the windows to roll down by holding down the unlock button on the remote transmitter or turning and holding the key in the door lock.

I inquired about it over the phone to the local dealer and I was told that they can activate it, but it would be $85 since I didn't buy the car there, however it would be free if I brought it to the dealer where I made the purchase.

So, I called up the dealer where I bought the car and they didn't know what I was talking about. They called me back the next day and told me that there was a note in they're system that says any Mustang built after January 15th does not have this function and cannot be activated.

Sounds like a load of crap to me! The first dealer I talked to said they can do it, but there would be a charge. It seems to me that my dealer either, doesn't know how to activate it, or doesn't want to.

Anyone have a 'Stang built after January get this feature activated?

That functionality is only included with the Active Antitheft System, but I imagine they could still activate it on the other cars. It's probably just a plug-in module.

 

Mine was ordered in Feb, built and delivered in March. Dealer activated the window feature (since I told him about it) during PDI. Worked when I picked up the car.
