Default Steeda Ultralight Spring Queston

Ok I installed my Steeda Ultralight springs a few weeks ago. They seem to ride fine and no issues as far as noises or anything.

-My question is mainly I expected the car to be a bit more level. It sits now at 27-3/4" in front and 28-1/2" in the rear to the bottom of the wheel well. If this normal from you guys with Steeda springs?

One item that I may need to "re-due" is that I did not install the factory ford spring isolators (rubber plastic protector) off the stock springs onto my new springs. The guy at Steeda said don't worry about it as they already installed a piece of heavy rubber heat shrink on them. I am thinking that installing that ford isolator onto the spring would bring the front up about 1/4" or so maybe.

I like the way the front sits but kind of wish it was a bit more level. If the rear came down that would be better but I hate to take a cutoff wheel to my new springs lol. Not the first time I have had to cut a 1/4 to 1/2 coil off a set of springs to make them work out the way I wanted though.

Thanks for any insight.

Eric

if i am not mistaken the steeda springs lower it the same amount front and rear, approx 1in, and if this is the case with the stock ride height being higher in the back it only makes sense that you have this spacing. post some pics please

It looks ok but I was expecting maybe 1/4" rake or so as Steeda claims the back drops a bit more than the front with their springs. I will take a few pics this afternoon and post them up. I really like the front stance, the rear is just still a bit higher than I would like. I think they ride just fine though, very little change over stock. My 06GT only has 7K miles on it though so maybe the shocks are still decent enough. I will probably do the D-specs after another 10K or so.

Thanks,

Eric

I know the sport springs from Steeda (which I have) drop the front 1 inch and the rear 1.25 inch, I would think the ultra lights do this also. Have you sent em email to Steeda or called them to see what the exact drop is supposed to be?

yes they claim the same drop. I will give them a call again today to see if they think my ride height is normal.

Thanks,

Eric

Cool, mine are on 18" factory bullets. I chatted with the tech guys over at Steeda and it seems everything is installed correctly. They seem to think they will settle in the back a bit more. Time will tell I guess. From Timothyrw it seems you have 5/8" rake so around 3/4" may just be the way it is.

They do ride pretty well. A heck of a lot better than my 96 with eibach springs.

Thanks,

Eric
