Default 4.10 Gears, The dealer, and SPEEDO issue.

Ok. So i'm ready to spring for the 4.10's. I figure Ill get the biggest WOW factor if i do them, a brenspeed cai combo, and UDP's at the same time but im being held back for a few reasons.

I know that the speedo will need to be corrected for the gears , and a SCT XCAL will do that for me , but the problem is , when i Bring the car in for warrenty, or sell it, etc. I would like the speedo to match the correct speed even with out a tune... Basically I dont want anyone to know it has 4.10s. Is there a way to permanantly set the computer to adjust for the 4.10's regardless of the xcal setting... there must be a way around it...

Thanks in advance!

You dont have to change the tune to change ratio settings. You can put your gears in and just hook up the xcal and ajust settings for gear ratio, tire size, etc.

You cannot change the gear ratio permantly. You will have to have a tune for it to read correctly

pretty big diff. When i bought my car it had 4.10's in and the previous owner removed the speedo calibrator, so my speedomer read somthing like 90-95 and actual speed was more like 70-75 so its off by i would say 20-25

forgot to mention, you can install one of these http://www.americanmuscle.com/speed-...tor-94-04.html and this will permanently change the speedo, well at least until you take out the device.
