Default Halo fog lights burnt out again

This is my second set of halo fog lights from MossMustang. The halos burn out after about4 months of use. Has anyone else had this problem? [:@] Right now I have only one that works and it looks stupid to say the least. I am thinking about cutting the wire and just using the regular fog lights.

Yep, thats standard for neon halo anything.
Go quality aftermarket and be glad you did.

My right side halo stopped working after a month so I cut the wires on both sides and now they're just regular fog lights. The one that stopped working apparently overheated. I noticed where the wires run into the inverter (little black box connected to halo), there was nothing sealing it from the elements. I guess maybe water got into it since it was around December when I installed the halos and it wasrainy season.I searched for a replacement inverter and found these -> http://www.vibelights.com/alduin.html. I bought two of them even though it says one inverter can power two bulbs. Figured if I change the bad one then I might as well change the good one too. These new inverters are shock proof and water proof. I haven't installed the replacements yet since I'm waiting to get halo headlights too and plan to do everything at once.

Where do you live that it is that foggy that you'll burn out fog lights in 4 months?

My car is never out in the rain and is only washed by hand so who knows what happened.

Thanks for the information. I may just cut the wire and leave it at that. Too much trouble to change it out again. Oh well, live and learn. I though Moss Mustang had quality stuff.

Moss does have quality, MustangsUnlimited (157db's pics) sell the same lights for about 20 dollars more. I'm actually looking to get some halo fogs to go with my halo headlights.

They do l;ook great but I wish they lasted longer than they did. I can't believe that I recieved two bum sets. IT must be the manufactures problem.

bringing dead threads back to life... But I am looking to buy a set of CCFL Halo fogs and headlights. Has anyone had the actual halo burn out or has water, etc. been the issue? The LED halos look weak in comparison, and are far less expensive, so I was under the impression that the CCFL's were the way to go. I think four halos across would look great, but not worth it if they are not going to be reliable--would end up just looking silly with some not working. Wondering if sealing housings and inverters/connections before install will solve the probs??
