Default SCT QUESTION

Do you need a CAI to install pre-programmed(canned) tunes from the X-CAL3?

No, but the "canned" tunes should be customized around NOT having the CAI. The tunes are written to improve performance and the parameters changed by a tune for a CAIis not the only variable that's changedin the tune.

A tune can be written specifically without a CAI. ANd you'd gain more RWHP with the stand-alone tune than you would with a stand-alone CAI (but why would you want to?).

Be sure the "canned" tune that you're contemplating fits your car or you'll be throwing CEL's.
