Default High speed hood wobble

I haveadjusted the rubberhood bumpers in the front. The hood still wobbles at higher speeds. I am wondering if anyone has come up with something else to do, besides installing pins.

There's been some reference to adding some weatherstripping on top of the headlights to reduce the amount of air getting up under the hood at high speeds. Too bad the search isn't working correctly.

I've noticed that on my car, too. The hood is fastened securly, except at the edges over the headlights. I've just learned to ignore it, as I don't think it will break anything.

Adjusting the bumper stops about 1/4 turn at a time (before raising the hood line above the fender) seemed to help but not completely stop my hood shake. It seems to do it now only occasions where there's a strong head wind and speed in excess of 100 MPH.

Thanks Guys, I tried the search, remembering there was some discussions. I am thinking about installing a one piece high density foam cut out to match the front area for the hood to rest on, headlight to headlight.

Here's what I have found out:

I bought the car and left the stock hood on it for a while. No hood shake at all on mine.

Then I got the Trufiber Venom hood, also no hood shake.

Then my friend bought a Torch Red GT, and he had the hood shake. He wanted to see what my old hood (Alloy Metallic) would look like on his car, so I gave it to him. His hood shake is now gone.

Now I am running around with his Torch Red hood on my car (looks absolutely ridiculous)....and guess what....I have the hood shake now.

So, I think it's the hoods, not the cars.

Hey i have the same hood as the Venom trufiber. I think its the hood from the gt500kr. Mine is allcarbon fiber and i noticed it shakes above the headlights as well!!! Hood pins would fix this? i wonder if drilling the holes might crack the carbon fiber?

I applied several layes of duct tape over the area and drilled straight thru the CF. It's been about 9 months now and no issues with cracking...

Thanks Guys, so I have a shaker hood LOL, I have cut and installed 1"thickmedium densityfoam, completely filling in the area over the headlights. The closed hood applies a bit of compression to the foam.Testing soon, see what happens.
