Default Tuner Cost

Im looking to purchase a used Diablo tuner which is locked for $100. What are the costs to unlock it? How much to download my own tunes? Does anyone recommend this product? What about ease of use? Any input will be helpful. I know next to nothing about tuners.

Only Diablo could unlock it and I don't think they'll
do it unless your the original owner.

I have an SCT tuner I bought used for $200. I could unlockit because the guy who owned it before me had returned his car to stock. I tried loading his tunes into my car but all I managed to do was wipe out my ECM. I had to have the car towed to the Ford garage and have to stock tune loaded in before my car would even start. Then I had to order new tunes ($130) before this thing would successfully program my car. Unless you are a computer guru, which I am definitely not, its better to buy one eitherfrom a tuner (VMP, Brenspeed, etc.) or buy an unlocked one.

Don't quote me, but I think it's at least 100 bucks to unlock the tuner, plus getting the tunes...I'd personally suggest getting a new one from a reputable tuner (I'm gonna suggest VMP or BAMAChips)...It's like 400 bucks and it'll save you a lot of worrying and possible headaches in the future.

Your cars have different stadagy codes. This is way you need to give the tuner seller the numbers on the outside of your PCM.

Got my SCT Xcal3 for $359.00 with 3 stock tunes and two custom tunes.
