Default damn brick!!

So I was driving onthe highway, passing a truck with lots of stuff on the back and I hear a big thunk on the right side of my car. I pulled over as soon as I could checked the car and found that whatever fell hit the rim on the rear right. Of course , it has a gouge in it! right along the tire line. It is not an issue with function, just looks like crap. I am so pissed.

I have the 18" polished aluminum rims on my GT, how much do you think replacing it is gonna cost me?

If you can buy it from a Ford Racing Dealer, buy the Ford Racing Wheel. It is the same as the Factory wheel, but half the price. Had the same thing happen to me, 18 inch Fan Blade wheel gota NICE gouge in it. Ford Dealer Retail was $440, invoice $330. FRPP wheel, $200. SAME WHEEL. Got to love Ford.

There are some shops that repair wheels, Check with the body shops in your area.

Wont repair a gouge. Bent rim, yes. Gouge, no. Cheaper to buy a new wheel.

Could have been worse. Brick could have hit the side of your car and did body damage or land on the hood and go through the windshield causing you to react in a manner that may have ended incrash with the driver of the truck oblivious of anything happening.

Yeah , I know it could have been worse. It sure startled the heck out of me when I heard that BANG!
I was on a 3 lane interstate and could not get then name of the co. on the truck. I was more concerned to look at what had happened or what had I run over etc.... No body damage, thank God. I guess I will have to save up to replace the rim eventually. It just makes me mad because I have been sooooo careful with this car!

Sorry to hear about that man. I just encountered a similar situation! [:@] Today I ran over a large tire tread on 495 and it knocked my lower grille loose. I also lost my shr lower grille inserts which I just purchased for $60. By the time I saw the tread it was too late to react. [:@] Does anyone know where and for how much I can purchase the lower grille insert for a 2008 gt?
