i've had problems fueling too
used to get like 320 miles to a tank
now its like 270 for a full tank

thought of many possibilities, Maybe water in my tank, Temperature outside is too hot, not fueling while the underground tanks are being fueled.

never heard of rotating the pump handle, i'll try that next time i go fill up

Common issue, even with some that had the TSB work done. It occurs about 20-40% of the time for me and I can usually work-around it by either pulling the nozzle out about 1/3rd of the way and/or slow down the delivery. Yeah, it's another quirk...

Between the small fill hose and an inlet that is way to small, there is deffinetely some design flaw IMO. Have you tried filling at "part throttle" instead of full blast? Just wondering

This happened the very first time I went to fill up.. was at about half tank and took me 3 tries to get it to start filling. Just had to ease it in.. I filled up when it was at about 1/4 tank the rest of the drive home, and since then I only fueled up when it was dead empty.. no problems since that first time.

The fuel tank is a saddle bag style.
The line that ties them together is internal and
has nothing to do with filling the tank, just draining
it. The service tech has talking out of *** syndrome.

I've seen this write up before. I don't know how well it works, but it might be worth a try. I'd try it if or when I get the problem. http://ratstangrestoration.com/05_mustang_tank.htm

You would think during initial testing that the engineers would have had this problem and corrected it.

Also sad for those car buyers who bought a Ford for the first time. Doesn't really make you want to go back and buy another one.

This is one reason why, if I ever buy another Mustang, I'll have to take it to the gas station to fill it up on the test drive!

I don't understand why sometimes mine (March 15, 2005 GT) will fill up fine and other times it won't, even with the same pump at the station by my house!
I don't mind having to turn the nozzle or even having to hold the trigger in the whole time. But only being able to squeeze out a few spoonfuls of gas at a time gets way too frustrating after 20 pulls.
