Default Car Cover

Anybody use an outdoor car cover during the winter? My mustang will see its firstNY winter in a few months and I am looking to protect it the best I can. Forced to keep it outdoors but thinking a cover will help keep some of the junk off of it while I am not driving it. My main concern is that the cover will freeze to my car overnight.

I lived in the Maryland mountains and covered my cars with Covercraft Weathershield covers. Very lightweight easy to store. Snow just slides off.Freezing rain would come off by tapping it with your gloved hand to break it up.Never had the cover stick to the car totally but sometimes it would stick in places but would peel off without hurting the paint or the cover. Here in Florida I still cover my Candy Apple Red GT/CS in the garage with a red Weathershield cover to keep the dust off of it.Best covers I ever owned.Google them to get the best price.

I have the Noah brand one similar to this one but I only paid $150 for mine.

I have used it for 3 winters now & it looks as good as new and keeps the car clean if is was clean
when you put it on.
I did not cut out for the antenna but unscrew the antenna when I put it on.

He may be referring to the Noah cover made by Wolf, available through Brothers Performance. I picked mine up on eBay for about that price. They're excellent covers, but in regards to the OP's question, I wouldn't know how this particular cover holds up (I imagine it would be fine) because it doesn't get that cold here in southern Cali!

I used a Noah car cover the firt winter I had the car. It was the winter of 2005. I parked the car in the back of the driveway after washing and waxing it. I placed thje cover on the car and let her sleep through the winter. We had a fair amount of snow that year, and some windy days. In the spring, I removed the cover and the trunk lid had scuff marks where the cover rubbed against the paint. The rest of the car was fine.

To this day, if you look closely, you can still see the scuff marks. If you do use a cover during the winter, make sure you take the snow off the car and don't let it melt into the fabric and re-freeze. I think this is what was responsible for the scuff marks.
