Nitrous install pics
you set the gear by setting your skip-shift to "1" at 6000RPM's. This means that it has to hit 6000RPM's once before it starts spraying, and would spray in second gear. if you set it to "2", then it has to hit 6000RPM's twice before it starts spraying, meaning that it would engage at your minimum RPM in third gear, etc.
you can go on zex website and download the installation manual and you will get a better understanding of it all. it really is easy once you read how it works

Ah, I seee, "skip-shift". Understood, pretty cool. Sounds really safe, that's the main reason I'm contemplating zex. I'll check out Zex's site foraddtl. info.
And do you guys know how to find out who fills bottles locally to you? Is there some kind of website you can search for providers or do you just have to call around?

i'm going to work on my 60' this time out friday.... i have the switch but like the feeling of using the manual button for some reason. i only spray above 3000 rpms.. i think i might try a new launch technique at the track this time to see what it does. might start using the nitrous on 1st gear and hope for the best.
i'm going to figure out how to mount the purge lines to spray out of the heat extractors. i'm sure i could mod something up to make it work. I will also be getting a custom dyno tune on sunday. time to see what kind of power my car is putting down for once.

Man, with things happening as fast as they do in a race, I almost wouldn't trust myself with pushing a button. [8D] The window switch sounds like the ticket... set it, stomp it and go!
Let us know what kind of numbers you make with the dyno tune. I'd be interested to know...

not much to look at since i'm an auto... don't have to worry about gear changes.. i can pretty much feel them and they are always about 3000rpms so i'm good to go.Ihold the button in my left hand while holding the steering wheel so it's really easy. I'm going to drop some more weight before the track and just go ahead and remove the passenger seat and rear seat. think it's time i start dropping some weight off the car before i hit the track.
Does the blow down tube attach to the top or the opposite side of where the nitrous line comes out of the bottle?
Also is it bad if my bottle pressure gauge is under the hood by the wot switch instead of right beside the bottle? I also have a bottle pressure gauge for my a-pillar.

i just ordered the blow down tube for my kit from dynotune nitrous. pretty sure it goes on the other side of the nitrous line through it's own opening. never used one before but i know i need one for track duty. also just ordered the rear seat delete kit so i can mount my bottle there instead of the trunk. last night at the track i managed a 2.01 60'. those are still horrible for having drag radials. i did spray once in first gear once the rpms got up and i felt the car run a lot faster.. only thing was the stupid printer was messed up at the end and there was a huge line of cars. they ended up telling us to just go through and no timeslip for that run [:@]no video, nobody i knew in the stands since all of us were racing... i was pissed.
also ran my purge kit but had a messed up T fitting that leaked so i didn't try it yesterday. one of my buddies is giving me his T fitting so i can test it out today. im going to try and run the hose through the vents. if not then i'll have to figure out a way to purge somewhere else.

What kind of bottle heaters are you all using? I would like to get one that works with pressure instead of temperature like I think the Zex one does but don't know how much is required. Also, would I need to run a nitrous line in through the car if I wanted a Bottle pressure gauge in my SOS cup holder panel? Is it better to just use an electric one? Where are you all getting your nitrous pressure gauges from? I already got my Zex kit, purge kit, pressure gauge and am about to order my blowdown tube, window switch, bottle heater, and SOS cup holder panel. ( Just ordered a pmp Dual solenoid line lock kit and two jegs solenoids to fill up my four buttons 1. Line Lock 2. Nitrous Arm 3. Nitrous Purge 4. Bottle heater)
