RE: CAI AND TUNE PROVEN HP
Although I haven't had the cash yet to get mine...go Steeda (Best) or JLT (Pretty danged good too) and don't look back. And yes, those combos from sponsors here are a safe bet.

RE: CAI AND TUNE PROVEN HP
Had the JLT2 and have the Steeda now. Fit wise, the JLT hands down. The Steeda looksgreat, fit kind of sucks. But for me, the tunes ran a lot better with the JLT. I ran the 93 perf from Doug with JLT and I thought it was sick. Same tune with the Steeda, there was a difference, seemed a little held back.So now I am running the 93 race and it moves. The other tunes are ok, but when you run the 93 perf and race and go back to a lower tune, its almost seems like stock. Steeda, JLT and C&L, you cant go wrong with any of them.

A before and after. Both on 89 octane.
I think the JLT and SCT is definitely the best for the money.
The JLT can be had for under 200

RE: CAI AND TUNE PROVEN HP
I just installed a GMS CAI and a performance tune from Diablosport via a new Predator I purchased as well. I am here to tell you that difference between pre tune and CAI and post tune and CAI is night and day.The car is now an animal. I went with the 93 octane firm-shift tune and I am very pleased. With WOT from a standstill, my car will chirp the tires with the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift. The throttle is very sensitive and it's very easy to accidently go sideways around a turn if your not careful (the tune I installed turns off TCS). I have never had the car dyno'd, but I can guarantee that it now makes more noticeable power.

Update
Last night I put on my used C&L intake bought off MF Classifiedslast week and I also received my SCT3 from Doug at Bamachips. Note: Tuner was ordered on Monday, had it yesterday, Doug knows Customer Service. Spoke to him 4 times now, super nice guy.
Installed the 91 Performance Tune and took the car for a drive...
Like everyone else, very, very noticable difference. Quick throttle response, first noticed I didn't hit the rev limiter at 6,000, shifted hard at 6200 to second, car skipped a little sideways and scared the wife, pulled like never before, shifted hard into third, lots of nice torque pushing me into the seatback, eased into fourth still pulling hard, shut down at 120
Called Doug this morning to see where the limiter is set and he said he sets it at 6800 because Ford really starts backing you off 300-400RPM's beforeit used to hit 6000 and shutting down hard. Now at 6800 that can't happen. Doug still recommends a 6000 to 6100 shift but the car is now not limitingyouat all. Doug says his dyno tests showed power and torque topping off around 6000-6100 anyway.
My seat of the pants Dyno and ear said my 6200 (out of the corner of my eye) shift was right on and felt great.
Also just tooling along in third about 65-70, when floored to go around traffic, itsets you back into the seat more like I felt with the ride in a GT500... just nice strong torque.
I am running 22's and 3.31s, I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when the 4.10's get installed in the next couple of weeks.

Well, I don't have but a "Seat of the pants Dyno" but I do have a C&L Street Intake setting in my garage and a SCT 3 coming from Doug at Bamachips this week, so I will give you my thoughts maybe by Friday. Doug is a tuner and he said I should see 25HP to the rear wheels minimum. I am also lining up some 4.10's for the following week. Best I can read... these two items are the biggest bang for the buck.

I have a steeda cai/sct2 brenspeed tune and frpp 4.10's on a 2005 GT 5-speed manual.

If you do a CAI and don't get a tune done right away will it lean you out and do any motor damage?
