I know this is probley a dumb question but I'm going to ask it just to make sure. My SCT X3 from bama came today and I'm going to place the new tune on the car tonight when I get home from work. I was going over the directions on how to install the tune and I did not see anything in the steps about "turning on the key" i.e. turning the key to the start or onposition with out turning over the motor. I'm guessing that is what needs to be done prior to pluging it in since in step #8 it states: When it is completely finished it will say "Turn Key Off" and Press Select". So would I be correct in guessing that the key needs to be in the "On" position first??

When you plug it in you will get prompted by the XCal to turn the KeyOn when you need to. It's really straightforward and easy.

Agreed. Follow directions. At one point the SCT device will instruct you to turn the key to the on position.

So easy a caveman can do it.

Yea the X3 is easy. It tells you what to do. Also don't worry about the error messages that come up on the car's info center. They will during the re programming. It is not a problem.

Also, make note of your strategy code before you load the tune. It is a good thing to have. There is a menu option to get it, it will also give you your VIN.
