I got this quote for my exhaust and intake for my GT

Pair of Flowmasters with 4" Magnaflow stainless tips, axleback all welded, not bolt on. K&N 63 series Aircharger Intake

Total $688 with parts, labor and taxes.

What you guys think?

Do it or screw it?

IMHO it sounds kind of expensive. On my 2001 that I have now, I had Cat Back Flowmasters with mandrel bent piping, and stainless steel tips installed for $475, and bought an intake for $175.00. Not sure why the axle back for the 2005 would cost more, since they are not replacing all the piping like they did on my 2001. I am no mechanic, that is just my take on it. Anyone else?

The total for the exhaust only, axleback welded on, is $353

Break down

Flowmaster mufflers 2 X 89.95= 179.90
Magnaflow stainless tips 2 X 33.76= 67.52
Labor (weld, pipe bend) 84.50
Tax & Hazardous waste 21.18

K&N 260.00 and labor 75.00

I've been looking into the same thing and it sounds right on for the exhaust, but IMO you might be able to get the air filter kit for less elsewhere and then install it yourself for less, it looks like a fairly easy exchange (though I could be wrong)
