GT badge removal
Sorry tried the search with negative results....Does anyone have instructions on how to remove the GT side badges? I was thinking of heating them up then using some dental floss, but I thought I read somewhere they were also attached to the fenders.

RE: GT badge removal
Don't do it! For whatever reason, ford thought it was necessary to put giant alignment holes in your fenders under the GT badge. Unless you're planning to put something else over the hole or pay big bucks to get them filled, don't remove the GT emblems.

to attach them but 3M Acrylic Emblem Tape. The
pins and holes are for thepre-schoolers they
use to install the emblems on the assembly line. []
Can they not get a robot to install the badging correctly?
Use some braided fishing line to saw thru the tape.
Most are croocked despite the 'alignment' pins.
A pic of the holes:

RE: GT badge removal
One of the reasons I loved my early 90's Peugeot. Heat it up, rip off the boot emblem, get rid of the glue and voila! Smooth with no holes!
I feel the need for guide holes is a failure in automation precision. It almost seems like there was a human doing it (hence the need for those alignment holes)

Well, I didn't find this thread before I did mine and put it back on. I debadged by Ram truck and liked it so much I thought I would do the stang but found the holes.
I have a Cervini C kit (Eleanor Dealer Ad on) and I would like to put something there besides the GT emblem but don't think I want to put a Cobra there until it's supercharged. Not to jack the thread, but what have others done to cover the holes?

Unless you plan on replacing the entire fender, filling and repainted the holes, or replacing the badge with another badge; don't do it. I personally haven't found any replacement badges that look as good as the standard GT ones. I have been tempted to see if I could trade fenders with someone with a sixxer.

RE: GT badge removal
FWIW, GM does not use alignment holes on the "V" emblems forthe CTS-V. And.....surprise surprise,my Vcame with one of the emblems misaligned. So...frustrating as it is for those that want to clean up the car by removing the emblems, apparently the holes do serve a purpose.
