The reason there are alignment holes is because trying to put the emblems on there "free hand" would certainly look terrible. Take a look at the back trunk of Altimas, Maximas, Accords, etc., and you'll see "slanted" emblems...nothing lines up properly...to me, that's inexcusable in this day and age.
