Default Was Impressed

I Must say i was very impress that i was able to drive an 06 Mustang GT 5 speed without my problems if any at all. and i havent been driving stick for long either the clutch on them is very easy and grabs early to. I usually rev it up a little over 1G to 2G without much problem and no burnout marks. the only downfall is that my work was telling me that they could smell the clutch burning "oops" apparently they say i ride the clutch ill remember next time i drive a manual car lol. now heres the question any beginners ever have trouble driving the Mustang when they first got it or no?

I did the same thing when I first got my mustang 2 years ago. I learned how to drive in a 1984 honda civic w/ a stick then never drove stick again until my mustang. I got used to it after a week or so. Just consider it a break in period, for you and your mustang.

As wonky as the clutch on the Mustang is - it didn't take long to get used to it. Its just like riding a bike - it becomes second nature.

Besides, a manual tranny is the only way to go.

Only real problem that I had was getting used to the pressure on pedal during city driving. I actually think my left leg may be more muscular then my right from driving, lol.

A friend has an '05 v6 manual.
He said the clutch was stiff, but great other than that.

When I test drove my GT, I told the salesperson that I hadn't had a manual in years, so bear with me.
Funny thing though......I had zero problems, the Mustang is hella easy to drive.
Only real problem is that it now has me using phrases such as "hella".

That's fine for a car that drag races all the time. But not everyone does that and for the street or races where you have to turn, a manual is the only way to go. Plus they sound better to due to the extra revving.

I'm going to try to get a manual 08 in a few weeks if all goes well. Traffic or not, I want a freaking stick!
