didn't test drive a 5 speed before the auto being that I had my mind pretty much set on the auto anyways, though from the looks of the shifter it looks pretty stout though easy to manipulate/drive. My previous car was a 05 dodge neon SRT-4 and it was a real breeze to drive fast and quick though the transmission, namely 3rd gear leaves so much to be desired in terms of day to day driving let alone racing *frowns*
love the auto though..no complaints here-
though if I were to ever test drive a 5 speed GT I don't think I'd ever give it back lol.

I learned how to drive stick on my mustang as well I'm still pretty bad after 9 months, but I was actually very happy to learn completely on this car. Makes me feel more in tune with it in a way if that makes any sense. The new clutch is kind of making up for my lack of ability though.

i have a 05 gt 5spd. i learned to drive stick on her. and my other car is an auto which i have been driving for about two years (im 18) so getting used to the whole clutch thing was a HUGE improvement. i had the same problem only not as severe. but i learned pretty quickly, because i have TONS of hills where i live so i picked it up fairly quickly, but let me tell you that first week or two is just absolute hell. just get out EVERY DAY and drive as much as you can each day, your wallet might hurt for a little while but it will be worth it when you learn the ins and outs of it

My 07 GT is a manual 5 speed and it was very easy to get used to!!
I learned how to drive a manual when i was like 14 taking my dads old little vw fox out when he wasnt home!! HEHE!!!! After that i loved driving a manual because it is way more fun imo!!

My '06 GT is my first car with a stick, and I'd have to say it was pretty easy to learn on the Mustang. First couple weeks weren't the best, but this car has plenty of power to keep you from stalling out. Hell, I accidently started it in 3rd without any problems lol.

I drive different cars all the time, and I have to say the stang is one of the easier ones. I think the gobs of torque make it harder to kill it, it just wants to go even without giving it gas when you let the clutch out.
I can honestly say the only 2 times I have killed it was because I accidently started off in 3rd, and the other time was at the strip doing my burnout with TC on, lol, that was embarrassing.
What I did not like was how the rpm's would hang when you pushed in the clutch, making the upshift not as smooth as should be. The tune took care of that.

I got a 04 Ranger that i pretty much learnt on.. Jumped in it one day and took off.. Now the Ranger is what i drive to and from work.. Got the GT, it was pretty easy to pick up on.. Only problems i have now where i drive the Ranger all week and jump in the GT, i have a hard time adjusting to where the gears are.. But after i got the groove again, its not a problem..
