Default Alternator Output

Working on my sound system - anyone know the amperage produced by the stock alt?
How much headroom once you start subtracting AC , etc.

Want to know this as well, can an audio install of about 600watts diminish the GT performance? Bring problems?

It shouldn't since the alternator used in the GT is the same whether you have the base level stereo or the Shaker 1000.

Wow, I didn't realize it was that high, that's pretty good!

Then again, i never really thought about it needing to be that high since I wasn't factoring the the Shaker1000.

For the record, in my old jeep (I believe it had a 110-120 amp alternator), I ran a 100 watt RMS amp and a 500 watt RMS amp without capacitors and they both ran fine. Very minor if any dimming of lights on huge bass hits. Anyone putting in a system should be able to get away with a good deal more than if you owned a honda

So what can I expect in problems by adding a 800 watt system to the mustang? even very very very minor ones...

No you shouldn't have any problems with it at all. Make sure you drive the car to charge the battery and the alternator does the rest. It can handle it. The battery will be a problem though as it sucks if it is the stock one......do a search on dead batterys on the site. It will produce alot of threads. Most of the time it was not the alternator. Can't say with 100% confidence that nothing will go wrong as anythingis possible.
