Installing Radar Detector
Anyone know how to install it? I would just use the cigarette lighter but I really want it to look neat and clean. So I need some info on installing a hard line power source.
Thanks for any help.

Direct wiring is very nice! I have an passport 8500 and the kit for mine costs maybe 30 bucks. I'd like to go direct but I can't keep mine up.. most of the time I'm in VA ( they're illegal here ) so I just use the cig lighter.. good luck man!

This is sort of relevant...
I have my GPS mounted in the bottom left corner of the windshield...totally out of the way of view...yet perfectly accessible.
For power...I did not want to have a power cord draped down cluttering up the dash, so I ran my own. You can tap into either keyed power or full time power in the fusebox and add a female cig adapter behind the radio (which is what I did).
You can pick up a tap a line (or whatever the call the fuse tappers) at Autozone for $4 and get your ground just behind the glovebox.
End result is you will have zero exposed wires and either keyed or full time power (your choice). If you need a pic, let me know...but it is pretty easy to do.

I have noticed since gas has shot up that people really are slowing down, at least on the highways. I hardly ever see any 80+ antics on the Interstate on my daily commute...used to be a common occurrence.
I have also noticed that if you dont speed...cops dont pull you over. That took a decade or so to figure out on my part...
