Default Dash Bezel Question

Is it difficult to replace the aluminum dash bezel and the plexi glass that covers the tach and speedometer? My plexi glass (or clear plastic, I guess) is cracked and it is driving me nuts. Also, a few imperfections on bezel go I figured it would be better to do all at once.

Thanks in advance!!

The plastic chrome dash bezels in our cars are cheap pieces of junk. Mine is pitted in some areas too. It was like that when I bought the car new. I wish there was something I could do like paint them or replace them with something else.

Whats the difference between cheap junky plastic and good plastic?
Whats the method you used to determine that the Mustang uses
'cheap' plastic for the chrome dash benzel?
Maybe the chrome plating is junk.
You want it to be made of metal?

Don't lie. You know what I mean. The chrome is crap is what I meant.

Edit: And yes I'd prefer that it was real metal

Chrome plated plastic has been the norm since the 60's. My 67 390GT has the same chrome plated plastic. If you want real walnut and chrome plated metal there is always the Aston Martins and Porsche 911 Turbos. Of course they're 5 X the price.

These aren't exotic sports cars with 6 figure prices, they're Mustangs for pete's sake. They are an American icon and a great value. Enjoy them for what they are and quit expecting them to be something they're not.

Even though they're chrome plated plastic, I would expect them to be a better quality! So much for "Quality is job 1."

What kind of job do you have and what product or service do you supply? I'd like to know so I could buy 'perfection' from your "quality job 1". I haven't found 'perfection' anywhere so please share yours with us.

So, has anyone tried to tackle replacing one of these yet? I looked at the link sent by 157db, but I just couldn't tell if it is something that I really want to tackle.
