Default Clutch Woe's !!!

Well a few weeks back I ordered a Spec clutch and Spec Flywheel from American Muscle who I am usually pretty happy with. But this adventure sucks!

First, UPS screws up again.( about the 12th time this year ) And I get the package 4 days later than expected. I guess I should be happy that I even got it as UPS has told me that they can not find my house three different times when they drop stuff here like twice a month! But no problem, I had the job scheduled for Saturday and I had the parts Tuesday.

Well I stood there looking at my new blue preasure plate and other bits when I noticed the numbers stamed into the Fly Wheel did not match the part number on the box! I needed SF46S and I got SF64S! So I immediatly call A.M. and was given the RMA info and was promised the flywheel by the following Monday. This sucks, now I am going to miss my install date and a trip to the track and may have to attempt a group drive on a gimp clutch!

Well here it is Mondy now and U.P.S. has come and gone, but no flywheel! I call A.M and speak to Brian and he tells me they were going to ship it today but realized all of the spec fly's were mislabeled. Wait, you were shipping today?! I was promised it at my door today! And how come I never recieved a call informing me of my order status? And to top it all off, this part is now back ordered through Spec so now they estimate 2 to 3 weeks! So now I will miss another install date! And 2 more races! Another Brian there is sgoing to try and call Spec tomarow and see if they can helpout here so I thank him in advance for trying.

I am not trying to bash A.M. I am just venting my frustrations. Although I do feel that they have dropped the ball on this on a bit and maybe should try to offer a way to set it right!? Thank you for listening to me rant a bit and get this off my chest. You guys are great listeners! LOL

Sorry to hear that. I had a simular problem with my LTs. They were packaged wrong, and it took some calls, and time to get it straight.

What Specs flywheel did you get? I will have an aluminum one for sale by the end of the week, it just needs a new face.

I am going for the steel one for longevity and apparently they seat better. The last part is just what Spec and AM told me.

I would have! The track was in Fontana CA and I am in Modesto CA so just the drive there would have broke it in. Then I would trailer home afterwards.

By the title, I figured you installed it and were having problems. Made me worried as I am having mine installed on Monday.

I am sure it will get figured out. Patience is a virtue.

I'll say a prayer for you asking that you don't have the clutch problems that us other guys with specs are having after the install. I don't think I've done a mod yet to my car without having some kind of hold up! oh wait, shorty antenae went on without a hitch.

MustangGT0405, you getting yours installed by Jay?
