Hey. Ive had my car for 6 months & noticed something in the owners manaul. In the section for fuel recommendation, it states that engine knocking is normal? I always thought this was bad for the cylinder walls? My engine knocks after WOT when I come to a stop, regardless of what octane fuel I use. My knock isnt terribly loud but its noticeable! How do you guys feel about this? I dont like it!

 

Its not normal....it can happen sometimes though. If you are getting it all the time I would use higher octane to see if it goes away, if not, dealer time

 

It knocks when you come to a stop AFTER WOT? Are you sure it's engine knock? What brand and weight of oil are you using? If it's happening only after a WOT run, I'm wondering if you have some oil starvation/lube issue going on.

Take it to the dealer and have them look at it.....just to be safe

 

My concern is how is any knocking tolerable when the right fuel is used? Is this a way for them to cover their behinds?
