Default Seat stains.........HELP

I took out my lower back seat and then laid down the top portion so I could get better access to my trunk when I was installing sound deadner. Now I have a few black stains on the top and face of my rear seats headrest. I don't know what it is. It looks like grease but it is slightly sticky like some kind of seam sealer. Anyways I can not get it off my gray seats. I've tried Preston fabric cleaner and Preston carpet shampoo. What do you guys recommend I try?

If they're cloth then its gonna be a bitch to get that out...I have stains on my seats and have the same damn problem. I've tried fabric cleaner and NOTHING! Maybe try getting it shampooed?

You might try "Mr. Clean Eraser" or "Goof Off".

I have heard from a detailer that their secret is this:

http://www.oreck.com/cleaning-suppli...pet-system.cfm

Seems odd...but he swears by it. FWIW, I would run it by a detail shop, slap the guy a $20 and see if he can get it out. They seems to have access to chemicals we mortals do not.

Test a spot first but if it is an oil-based stain try acetone or lacquer thinner. I used them to successfully remove stains from our home's fabric furniture many times without a problem.

yep. gray cloth seats. This is going to be fun. I think I'll try WD-40 first. I'm a little concerned about paint thinner. Goof Off? Hey I know I missed my seats up but please don't call me names !!. LOL. I know what you meant. I think I've seen it in the stores called goop off or something like that. I don't really have a detailer in the area that I trust.

Out of curiosity, have any of you scotch guarded your seats or carpet? I'm thinking about doing that once I get this stain out. The salesman I bought my car from told me I should scotch guard them but I didn't. Wish I would have taken his advice now but who would have thought a salesman would be right!

I used to have tan cloth in my GT before I upgraded to leather and had used goof off a few times on them. It worked really well. The only bad thing was that if you didn't absorb most the water/soap with a towel it would dry with water marks on my seats. That used to make me so mad! Regardless, it didn't take long to convince myself to change out the cloth for leather.
