bootubes, from bad to worse
i had a post a while ago about how to get rid of that rattle at low RPM. well i never did figure out where to cut or trim. i tried to ignore it. seems it does it more when its cold rather than operating temp. well now i got a squeal from it too, like a metal on metal squeal. that together with the rattling is really embarassing. i dont know what to do, i like the boomtube sound, and its new with the money i just spent on it, im not ready to ditch, as im hoping somebody knows a fix. any advice or pics? thanks a bunch

have you tried taking it to a professional? and i mean someone good, a shop that specializes in exhuast, someone that bends his own stuff and does custom work... that's what i did, got a recommendation from another mechanic. guy had them aligned perfectly and tac-welded them in place, they aren't going anywhere!
don't accept the rattles or misalignment. trust me, i've got the boomtubes and they are PERFECT! only cost me $25, too!

I agree with acascianelli to check out the hanger. My axleback on the driver side is loose so it rattles and the hanger end seems longer than the other side & rubs on the metal part of the bumper and makes a god aweful metal on metal squeal in the morn when its cold.

I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that they are Boomtubes. It just sounds like they are not installed quite right. Don't give up on them. Like you said they are a great sounding system... I couldn't have asked for a more perfect exhaust sound. Like others said, get it checked by a pro shop.
