+1 That looks almost as good as the Chrome ones. I must saythey look amazing and probably took som serious time and a great effort.

Yes, remember the million dollar question I asked and answered on my previous post. I did state that they will tarnish over time. I have been working on these covers for a month now. One week went by without touching them and they still looked good, but I am sure they will tarnish/dull eventually if placed inside the vehicle "raw polished" or unprotected. I do not think they will look as bad as stock tho. You have to do something to "seal" up the shine just like Americaniron did above. I may try to clear coat them first or use the product Americaniron used: Zoop Seal.

After 8 yrs and only re-polishing it once it looks almost exactly the same . No clear coat and no Zoops Seal.
From 8 yrs ago till to date the car has only had 28,000 miles on it so it's not a dd.

I sand with 100 then move to 150 or 180 then move to 220 grit sand paper.
Next I use Emery compound on a buffing wheel with an electric drill. Then I use Tripoli compound on a buffing wheel, and finally White Rouge on a different buffing wheel.

The back surgery that will follow from leaning over your engine compartment for who knows how long polishing, will cost you more than buying them even in billet alum!

"Almost Stock"...it looks fantabulous. Well done. Not sure our materials are the same, thus not sure ours will not tarnish.

"ONF1R", yes....follow one of TACO Bill's tutorials--Its right on the money.

taco bill... he swapped his covers..

and ya.. i polished mine up.. lasted about 2 months.. and now they are cloudy as hell.. they still look better than what it did, thats for sure..

but it does take a LOT of effort and time.. noxon pollish is really good too.. and i deff suggest doin the steel wool.. that would help.. just becarefull it doesnt put swirl marks..
