Default Suspension Problems...Serious?

Okay.... Please help me figure out the problem and determine if it is serious or dangerous. I have tokico hp's, bmr lowering springs, bmr adj panhard bar. I put the suspension in myself like 4 months ago. I used new upper strut mounts from Ford. Like a month ago, I started getting popping in the front. So I took out the struts and made sure everything was tight and secure.

Last week there was some freeway construction, that was really bad. After hitting those bad patches the popping came back. It is so worse now. The popping is all the time, especially at low speeds going over bumps. It pops on the freeway over bumps. I can feel it on the left side and I can feel it in the floor board. I took the front wheels off and took a rubber mallet to the suspension to see if I heard anything loose. I retorqued what I could. Everything was tight.

Is this the upper ball joints that are failing, ball joint or what????!!!!! Is this a serious problem? Should I not drive my car? Advice? Thanks!

parts are about 80 bucks and it should fix it. Theres a 200 page post on this same problem on this forum. Its one of the most talked about issues for awhile.

Go find some GT500 Upper Strut Mounts

They're a little bit tougher, and less expensive then what hufenstang's link describes.

I've had them on for a few months and they're just fine. I had that "thunk" you're describing beforehand, but after I lowered the car and put the GT500 mounts on, it cured the problem. You can find them for $60 if you look around.

Fixed it. The swaybar endlink on the left side was loose where it mounts to the strut. Must have backed out due to rough roads. I put some locktite on to prevent it from happening again. No more worrying for me. : )
