200 is a good price, if they know what they are doing and you dont. just let them take care of it for 200 bucks, the headaches will not be worth it

HA HA HA DONT DO IT!!!
Pay the 200 bucks (ITS VERY CHEAP) as long as its a reputable company and trust me your rear end you DONT DO YOURSELF or have a back yard buddy do either.
gears are too easy to F up and about your buddy ask him if he has a lash gauge and all the reqired mesurement tools I'd bet NO you cant do this at home unless you have all the tool probaly worth like a grand and dont it like a hundread times before he does yours and definaly not a drinking beer type of install. Save some headachs, tears, and cusses, and pain in the pocket in the long run. PAY THE PROS and break em in a little before you stomp on it... nice and easy for a few hundead Miles

If the dude needs info on how to do it then find someone else....many people that have been installing gears for several years and still have trouble getting them in without whining in the s197. There are tons of threads on here about gear whine and whatnot.
