Default Stripe Color!

I am hoping to get some racing stripes bumper to bumper and cant decide what color to go with. I want it to be original so I'm thinking not black. What is another colors that will go with my silver well? I think I am going to save and get them painted next spring instead of going with decals. Is it worth paying extra and painting it or should I just go with decal type stuff? Thanks!

If you arent sure I would get some stripes done up in Vinyl first put them on yourself and see if you like them. Then if that is the look have them painted because once it is painted you arent going to be changing the color to quickly. It really does depend on how different you want it because it can look good or could look like crap although that is hard to do on a mustang. With your color car there are a lot of choices in color.. Maybe a dark burgundy red, a darker grey with white stripes on the edges. Then there is single super snake, double stripes.. I know the feeling mine is in the paint shop and I was down there 3 times changing designs and finally said screw it, do it like this and call me when you are done. Over thinking it can make you go nuts too..

You can check out baltimore street mods they have a bunch of pics of cars with stripes. May have something you like that is different.

Click on the link and pick the stripe size. Pics of customer cars are at the bottom of the pages.

Blue. Blue is good on silver. Matte black is always a good choice, as well.

Really, anything other than White, Yellow, or Gold (the other 'metallic' colors) could be done very nicely, given the right shade and stripe. A tastefully dark Green or Red would certainly be unique.

I'm assuming silver by "What is another colors that will go with my silver well?" The reason I mentioned not doing white, is that in a heraldic context white and silver are the same color. As are yellow and gold. Using them together doesn't generally yield particularly spectacular results. More contrast is typically better, and even though he's not using it for easy identification on the field of battle... the idea still stands as relevant (I think, anyway).

That's not to say he can't use them together... I just personally don't suggest it. My opinion only.

Thanks for the imput and I should have said in my post, my car is silver.
I was thinking a metallic darkish blue or a really dark silver. Im leaning towards the blue since it will stand out more. The silver GT500KR have blue stripes but I personally dont like the width.

The pattern that seems to be my favorite

Should I go with something like that? I like hearing your opinions!

Also how much would I cost to get painted? Im guessing around 1500?

May be a good time to think about putting on a new hood and spoiler or any other stuff you want. Would really suck to get your stripes painted and then decide you want a different hood or maybe a rear spoiler or bumper or something. I personally think the double stripes on the blue roush are cool. That is the same kit I got in Matte Black for my car but then decided to go with painted instead and my own custom stripe. You dont have to go with the same width as everyone else. I have seen cars with huge double stripes, stripes on the hood but not on the roof, blacked out hoods etc. etc. Maybe add a Roush hood scoop, I think that would be up on my list if I wasnt putting on a new hood.

Yea, I am getting a scoop in the spring I think, maybe a hood, but I wont get a new front end for a while. If I have to a year from now get a small section painted then o well
