Default Keyless entry dosnt work anymore.

Today my Remote controll to the car stoped working with both of my key sets so I guess a fuse must have broke.

So can anyone help me locate the fuse? I think its in the fuse box on the passanger side but I dont have a tool to try if they work or not so I would be most greatfull if someone could tell me what fuse to change and what kind it is. No I dont have the manual.

Thank you.

i don't know if you're going through the same thing as me.

but sometimes when i park in a garage, it won't let me lock the car or unlock. i have to press it like 20 times before i get something out of it, and then i accidentally unlock when i have to lock cuz i'm just trying out the buttons. i think its some kind of interference.

sorry i don't know where the fuse is, best of luck.

I'm not sure what might cause it, but both FOB's may need to be reprogrammed. I know in the '07 owner's manual there's a step-by-step procedure on how to DIY.

Same thing happened to me while in a casino parking lot in Reno. Neither remote worked. As soon as we left the parking lot..couple blocks away..remote worked just fine.

Well its been about 24 hours since they stopped working, it rained alot when it stopped so I was thinking maybe the junction box got wet and made a fuse go.

Im gonna take the car to my dad tomorrow if it dosent work by then, he have the tools to try the fuses so hopefully Ill find the problem then.

If that dosent work I will try the reprograming of the remotes, But I havent found the DIY instructions in the 05 manual , so is that only for the later models maybe?

From the '05 manual

How to reprogram your remote entry transmitters You must have all remote entry transmitters (maximum of four) available before beginning this procedure. To reprogram the remote entry transmitters:

1. Ensure the vehicle is electronically unlocked.

2. Put the key in the ignition.

3. Cycle eight times rapidly (within 10 seconds) between the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position and 3 (ON).
Note: The eighth turn must end in the 3 (ON) position. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has been activated.

4. Within 20 seconds press any button on the remote entry transmitter.
Note: If more than 20 seconds have passed you will need to start the procedure over again. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that this remote entry transmitter has been programmed.

5. Repeat Step 4 to program each additional remote entry transmitter.

6. Turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position after you have finished programming all of the remote entry transmitters.
Note: After 20 seconds, you will automatically exit the programming mode. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has been exited.

Anytime. Here's the online link to Ford manuals.

On the left side select owners guides, then year and model.
