Clutch Is Slipping Need Advice
Hello everyone,
Last week I was having lots of fun doing some burnouts and hard launches with my Mustang. I started too smell my clutch so I stopped. Later during the week while driving I began noticing the clutch slipping whenever I would throttle it hard.
I am currently running a Centerforce dual friction clutch (Not the DFX). The clutch has 11,000 miles on it. I installed the clutch when I installed the Whipple HO.
I am currently researching a replacement clutch and flywheel setup and would like to get feedback from this forum. Let me know what you recommend with what I have in mind. I can't seem too choose.
Considered clutches:
- Centerforce DFX
- SPEC Stage 3+
- Mcleod RST
My Mustang is a daily driver so clutch comfort, control, performance and reliability are important factors. I also plan on using a new OEM hydraulic throw out bearing.
Thanks!

I just had a Mcloed RST installed and so far I only have 100 miles on it, but I like it.
The pressure is a little more than stock. I am using it with a Mcloed steel flywheel and my stock TOB, has 17k miles on it.
It has a large friction zone and drive nice so far.
There are a few of us that bought them as part of a group buy. I know Sactown and Myself already have them installed.
Look in the 4.6L specific section for posts about RST Installed and you can read all about them. Let me know if you have any questions on the RST.
And from what I have seen of late I would take the Spec off the list, dont know anything about the centerforce.
